One of the first things the software does upon loading, is to contact the Remote Origin Licensing server. Although the account information is embedded in the software, it checks for updates every time it boots. What does this mean to you? You can change the user name, password, hostname, usb key and even time left until the software can be rendered useless without ever having to inform your client and without having to send your client a new copy of software.

If you require your Remote Extension to expire for any reason, it can be set in a simple and secure fashion. Just set the expiration date in the web portal and the software will simply stop working on that date. If you need the software to stop functioning the next time it is loaded, set the date in the past. Simple!

Locking a Remote Extension to a specific USB drive that is in your possession is also easy. When you activate your Remote Origin Web Portal Account, you recieve a piece of software. This software simply retrieves all active USB devices, their corresponding drive letter and puts this information in a list. This software can help you set up over 100 drives at one time! When activating a new software license, input the desired USB serial number with the other account information.

Each Remote Extension can be programmed to utilize multiple server addresses. This would allow you to have multiple servers in different geographic locations. This would allow your server and your clients to participate in a virtual mesh network. Needless to say, if your primary Asterisk server goes dark, the software can easily utilize backup servers.
